It was insincere, anonymous, and boilerplate. The “apology” we received back did not come from the manager who was present that evening and to whom we addressed our concerns to in the original email. Subsequent to this unfortunate experience, we reached out to management to recount that night’s events and share our concerns with how the staff on duty conducted themselves and interacted with our group and other patrons. It is absolutely absurd that this night unfolded the way that it did. My friend is the most solid, upstanding, respectful person I know and we are all young professionals with wealthy peers at or near the bachelor party / engagement party stage of our lives, and we will be telling of our experience to everyone. We paid Surrender $1,400 for drinks which probably cost them less than $75, and in exchange we received terrible service, zero respect, and a distinct negative mark on our trip. To summarize our night, we waited 45 minutes for drinks without communication or apology, the new waitress poured our booze irresponsibly and without care towards the end, she attempted to remove the bottle before it was finished, and then got my friend removed from the club for protesting her actions. After being escorted out, he explained to the bouncer what had happened was told that the waitress was getting him kicked out for using disrespectful language – which again is simply not true, and can be vouched for by our entire group, half of whom are female, and all of whom we would characterize as being very respectful people in general. Moments later he was approached by the bouncer, who had been told via radio to remove him from the club, without explanation. Never at any time did he use derogatory language towards her. He let her know that this kind of service was unacceptable, and that mocking the customer is not how you deal with complaints. She said to him condescendingly: “are you going to split that with 8 people too?” and started to walk away. As she walked away, he yelled that the bottle wasn’t empty yet, which made her stop, and pour the remaining amount into a glass. After the server rebuffed my friend's comment and made no apologies or effort to fix the problem, she decided to take the bottle away from the table with at least an inch of vodka left. The server responded that another one of our friends had told her to pour that much, which was simply not true, as that person had been sharing the alcohol equally with our group the entire night. My friend made her aware that we were a group of 8, and we were trying to share the drinks equally – nevermind the fact that it’s ridiculous and irresponsible to pour that much vodka into a short glass for a mixed drink (and serve it to a petite female). There were about 3 inches of vodka left in the bottle, and she poured 4-5 shots into one person’s glass. Our only interaction with our new server was when she came over to essentially clear our table. ![]() Towards the end of the night, our server was nowhere to be found, and we were told by our new server that she had gone home. ![]() Our server responded “I can ask…” but even additional follow up questions from our group went unanswered. ![]() Needless to say, we were no longer in party mode at that point, and we asked for at least some free shots to make up for the buzz kill of waiting 45 minutes for our drinks. Meanwhile, a girl beside us passed out abruptly onto the floor, and continued to regain consciousness and then pass out two more times, with her head snapping back and eyes rolling back, in plain view of staff, without being escorted out of the club for being obliterated. Fair enough, but there was no communication from staff to this effect, and no effort to remedy the situation in the interim. For the next 45 minutes, we were kept in the dark as to why there was such a long delay in receiving our drinks, and we eventually learned it was due to the credit card system malfunctioning. He was part of our group of four couples, celebrating one of the couples’ recent engagement.įirst, we were escorted to our table, where we promptly ordered a 1.75L bottle of Grey Goose, red bull, and Fiji water. My best friend was at Surrender in late April and was kicked out of the club for “looking at the waitress disrespectfully” - according to the bouncer who removed him. ![]()
